Single Story or Ranch Style homes incorporate design characteristics for all of your day to day living needs on one level.

Two main styles exist, the Standard-Ranch and the Split-Ranch.

The Standard-Ranch designs all bedrooms to one side of the home and shared living spaces (kitchen, dining, living, laundry)Best New Green Home 2009 to the other side of the home.

The Split-Ranch designs the master suite to one side of the home with the balance of bedrooms located to the opposite side. Shared living spaces are nestled between, in the central area of the home.

Either style may be constructed as a Raised-Ranch. The Raised-Ranch refers to elevating/raising the home out of the ground Best Kitchen 2007(above finished grade) usually between two and four feet. This “raising” creates a taller appearing home which incorporates steps to a front porch or entry foyer. Additionally, the Raised-Ranch affords the introduction of full size windows into the lower-level which is desirable if a finished basement is planned.
